- JC's and CIT's are assigned to different groups of campers to assist the Counselor and Assistant Counselor in a variety of
ways. Through the camp experience, you will gain important leadership skills and learn concepts involving child development.
As you gain confidence and experience, you will be given opportunities to plan and lead activities.
- JC's and CIT's will meet with camp directors, staff and peers on a regular basis to discuss camper issues and focus on camp
leadership and problem solving.
- Camp runs from June 23 - August 22, 2008. JC's must attend eight weeks and CIT's must attend four weeks, Monday through Friday. JC positions are only available to a second year CIT.
- If you are accepted into the CIT program, you will be unable to participate as a camper in other programs such as the High Adventure Beach Club or Tumbleweed North.
- JC's and CIT's receive a valuable experience and a fun and rewarding summer. The application process includes submitting a completed application, two reference forms and a release form. In addition, all applicants must participate in an individual interview. Acceptance into the program is based on interviews, references and the applicant's perceived ability to handle typical camp situations in a mature and responsible manner. Tumbleweed is also looking for applicants who posses maturity, enthusiasm, warmth and empathy.
- Tumbleweed promises to provide the guidance and ongoing training necessary for success. Summer at Tumbleweed is not a vacation, but it is a time to have fun outdoors, make lasting friendships and gain a tremendous amount of job-related satisfaction.
